Online tutoring for students anywhere in the world

Who this is for

We're based in Burnaby, British Columbia, and we teach in person across Metro Vancouver — but a growing share of our students have never been anywhere near it. They're elsewhere in Canada, in the United States, in Europe, in Asia, in the Middle East. Some are expat families who wanted a tutor who could work in English at a North American standard. Some are university students studying abroad. Some simply live an hour from the nearest good tutor and were tired of driving.

If you're outside Metro Vancouver, this is the page for you. Everything else about the service is identical: same tutors, same rates, same one-on-one format.

Subjects available online

• Math tutoring — Elementary number sense through calculus and linear algebra.
• English tutoring — Reading, essay structure, analysis and academic writing.
• Chemistry tutoring — Stoichiometry, bonding, equilibrium and thermochemistry.
• Biology tutoring — Cells, genetics, physiology, ecology and evolution.
• Physics tutoring — Kinematics, forces, energy, circuits and modern physics.

All five subjects are taught online from elementary level through university, and students often combine two — math plus physics, or biology plus English — within a standing weekly schedule.

How an online session runs

Sessions run over Zoom, where our tutors use an interactive whiteboard. The student can write on it as much as the tutor does, which matters: watching someone else solve a problem builds recognition, not skill. Diagrams, derivations, essay plans and worked examples all accumulate on the board through the session, and the student receives them afterwards as revision material.

Before the first session we ask for the course outline, any recent tests or assignments, and a short description of what's going wrong. That lets us plan rather than spending your first paid hour on discovery. As things progress we track topics covered and topics still shaky, and we send parents a plain-language update on where their child actually is.

To join, a student needs a computer with a decent internet connection and somewhere reasonably quiet. Nothing needs installing beyond Zoom.

Scheduling across time zones

We schedule in your local time, confirm it in writing, and hold a standing weekly slot wherever possible so it doesn't have to be renegotiated every week. We routinely teach outside standard Pacific hours to make international slots work — early mornings and late evenings here. If your window is genuinely impossible for us, we'll say so at the consultation rather than stringing you along.

Curriculum and rates

Our tutors know the British Columbia curriculum thoroughly and support BC students in it every week — but the subjects themselves are universal, and we're not a BC-only service. We work from whatever course outline you send us.

Online sessions carry no travel fee, so the rates below are exactly what you pay. The weekly commitment discount and referral credit apply to online students the same as everyone else.
