Who this is for

Richmond is an academically competitive place, and that shapes the kind of requests we get. A lot of the students who come to us are not failing anything. They're doing fine and want to be doing better, often in a specific senior science or math course that stands between them and a program they've already set their sights on. We're comfortable with that goal, and we're equally comfortable with the student who is genuinely stuck and needs the pressure taken down a notch first.

We also do a lot of writing work here. Students who are strong quantitatively often find that English and lab write-ups are what actually hold their averages back, and that gap is very fixable with focused one-on-one attention.

In person or online

In-person sessions in Richmond include the standard $10 travel fee for locations outside Burnaby, and because Richmond is a longer trip an additional charge may apply for some addresses — always quoted before booking. Online sessions have no travel fee and run worldwide, so a Richmond student can keep their regular weekly slot while visiting family overseas without missing a beat.

It's the same person each week, working from a plan built for that student, with progress tracked so improvement is measurable rather than assumed. We prepare specifically for the assessments a student is actually facing, including the wording and structure that earn marks.

We're also straightforward about scope. If a student needs six sessions rather than sixty, we'll say so. Our aim is a student who no longer needs us, which is a strange business model and the right one.
